What makes us different from other CPM solutions? Analysts of the Corporate Performance Management market distinguish CPM tools in three different categories:
Flexible CPM platforms,
Content-based CPM tools and
Financially oriented CPM tools
Flexibility is the be-all and end-all of controlling. Data models emerge quickly, establish themselves or are quickly overtaken by the development of the company. A flexible tool must be able to sustainably implement even completely individual requirements. Sustainable here means that subsequent adjustments must also be possible without discarding the successes once achieved.
CONTENT-BASED CPM TOOLS
Prepared models for different industries and / or fields of activity can be introduced and put into operation extremely quickly - within a few days. The price of the fast introduction may be due to the fact that individual requirements beyond the standard are not mapped.
FINANCIALLY ORIENTED CPM TOOLS
Tools for standardized applications in the financial sector - e.g. financial planning (P&L, balance sheet, liquidity planning) or legal group consolidation. The standards here are highlighted in terms of content - a group consolidation has to meet external requirements and cannot be freely designed.
In all three categories! The CoPlanner Framework Edition offers the flexible CPM platform. Our customers can implement their individual requirements there. Where there is an algorithm, there is a way!
A CoPlanner application always contains this agile platform. Depending on the use case, it is extended with ready-made content. Be it a sales planning component only (quantity, price, customer, product, region, sales type, period, scenario), or a solution for the mechanical and plant engineering industry that maps the specifics of project business. This content is inserted into the framework like a Lego module and linked to individual or other ready-made modules. They can be individually extended and adapted - by the customer.
Financially oriented modules such as financial planning, consolidation or IFRS16 are also added to the framework. The only difference to the prepared models: here the possibilities for intervention are more limited. These are not rigid models, but to maintain the audit trail, adjustments and further developments of the calculation kernel are made by Coplanner and made available to the customer in the course of maintenance. Individual extensions that do not affect the calculation kernel are still possible (for example the extension of the profit and loss statement with new criteria).
In this sense - cum grano salis - Coplanner is the legendary wool-milk sow in the corporate performance management market. In the picture the embodiment of this little animal that was presented to us by one of our partners as an expression of appreciation.
Since his graduation as Dipl. Wi.-Ing at the Technical University of Karlsruhe in 1994, Heinrich Nordsieck has been active in the field of Business Intelligence and knows many CPM tools from his own practice. In 2000, he founded Axus AG in Munich together with partners. Axus AG recognized the potential of the CoPlanner tool early on and was active as its partner in Germany.
In 2007 Axus AG was taken over by pmOne and he held a management position as VP CPM. The CPM connoisseur has been a shareholder and managing director of CoPlanner GmbH since the beginning of 2016. His hobbyhorse is the transformation of customer requirements into functioning solutions, and he is proud that these solutions have been used successfully for many years or even decades.
