Various market research, studies and user surveys by independent consulting firms such as the Business Application Research Center (BARC) or Dresner Advisory Services revealed various trends for corprorate performance management and planning solutions in 2021. In this blog post, we briefly discuss the trends from 2021 and encourage you to actively participate in them for 2022.
According to Dresner Advisory Services, HR controlling, budgeting and cash flow forecasting are all trending in the current economic and general overall situation, as predicted by the annual EPM study for 2021. These three planning areas have taken on a crucial role for companies during the pandemic.
CoPlanner Software und Consulting GmbH confirms this trend direction, the topics of personnel requirement planning enriched with various scenarios or personnel cost planning have played a dominant role for medium-sized companies in the "lock-down phase" in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
This is also reflected in the largest global survey, "The Planning Survey 2021 by BARC", that the most important trends are self-service planning for business functions, the integration of different sub-budgets and the analysis and simulation of different scenarios.
Planning and fast forecasting definitely brings more security for controllers and their companies and serves as essential decision support. Planning accuracy and planning processes can be made more efficient thanks to forward-looking forecasts, and wizard-supported processes offer enormous time savings.
You can find out what trends we can expect in 2022 and whether the differences from 2021 are significantly different by actively participating in BARC's Planning Survey 22. Both business and technical users, software vendors and consultancies are invited to participate in the survey.
